Biography of Steve Jobs who died on 7 October , 2011 at the age of 55, after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.
Steve Paul Jobs was born on 24 February,1955 in San Francisco to Joanne Simpson, then an unmarried graduate student, and Abdulfattah Jandali, a student from Syria.Simpson gave Steve jobs for adoption though she later on married Jandali and give birth to Mona Simpson, who become a novelist. Steve Jobs was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs .
Steve took up summer job at HP while at school. Jobs quit college after a semester, as it was depleting his parents savings, and travelled to India where he became a Buddhist
When he came back to California, he started working for video game firm Atari and attended meeting of the Home brew Computer Club with School friend Steve Wozniak.
Both started Apple Computer in the Jobs garage. Their first creation was Apple I , a computer without case,keyboard or monitor.
Apple I become so popular that jobs was worth $100 million by 25.
Apple released the first commercial Computer with Graphical user Interface (GUI) . The Macintosh, introduced in Jan 984, was the successful PC to have GUI and a mouse.
After a power struggle with CEO John Sculley , Steve resigned as Chairman in 1985.
Jobs bought George Lucas computer graphics shop for $10 million and renamed it Pixar Inc in 1986.
In 1991, he married Laurene Powell in 1991. The couple had three children. Jobs had a child from a previous relationship.
In 1998, Applle unveiled the iMac, an all in one PC embedded in translucent box.Apple become profitable again .
In 2001, Apple revealed iTunes, a free software for organising music. iPod was all launched in the same year.
In 2003,.Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Disney bought Pixar for 6.08 billion in 2006. In the same year Steve dropped computer and introduced iPhone.
In 2009, He cutback his daily involvement in daily activity at Apple.
Jobs introduced the iPad in 2010 and iPad tablet. He resigned and Tim Cook took over as CEO.
